Designed for 12-24 V installations, this red LED marker light from the Fristom MV-6500 serie is suitable for mounting on a variety of vehicles. Thanks to its slim design and polycarbonate material for both lens and housing, this surface mounting LED marker light is resistant to mechanical and external influences. The cable length is 50 cm and the luminaire features an open wire end for easy connection. This marker light combines the functions: Rear Marker Light and Reflector. The robust construction is IP68 rated and certified to CE, ECE-R10, ECE-R148 and ECE-R150, making it suitable for professional use in the transport and vehicle industry. ECE R48 — where every lamp on a vehicle must sit.

R48 is the master installation regulation. It defines which lamps are mandatory, which are optional, where they may be mounted, and how they must switch. Individual lamp regulations (R7 for position, R87 for DRL, R65 for beacons) certify the lamp itself. R48 certifies the vehicle on which the lamps are fitted.

DRLs became mandatory on new EU-registered vehicles in February 2011. R87 is the regulation they comply with. It specifies luminous intensity, colour, geometry and, critically, the switching logic — a DRL that fails to shut off under main-beam is as non-compliant as one that was never fitted.
