The Fristom LED marker light from the MV-5400 serie is designed for surface-mounted applications on vehicles with a voltage range of 12-24 V. These LED marker lights combine the functions: Rear Marker Light and Reflector. Thanks to its compact size of 72x34x18 mm, the luminaire is suitable for mounting in confined spaces. The housing and lens are made of polycarbonate, which contributes to mechanical durability. With a cable length of 50 cm and an open wire end as the connector, the electrical connection is straightforward. The red light colour contributes to rear visibility. Certified to CE, ECE R10 and ECE R7 guidelines, this marker light meets standard requirements within vehicle lighting. Protection against moisture and dust is designated by the term'waterproof'. ECE R48 — where every lamp on a vehicle must sit.

R48 is the master installation regulation. It defines which lamps are mandatory, which are optional, where they may be mounted, and how they must switch. Individual lamp regulations (R7 for position, R87 for DRL, R65 for beacons) certify the lamp itself. R48 certifies the vehicle on which the lamps are fitted.

DRLs became mandatory on new EU-registered vehicles in February 2011. R87 is the regulation they comply with. It specifies luminous intensity, colour, geometry and, critically, the switching logic — a DRL that fails to shut off under main-beam is as non-compliant as one that was never fitted.
