Omschrijving

This red LED marker light from Fristom s MV-5800 serie is designed for vehicles with a voltage range of 12-24 V. The oval-shaped model is suitable for surface mounting and, thanks to the combination of rear marker light and reflector, provides a signal function that contributes to vehicle visibility. The housing is made of polycarbonate and rubber, with a polycarbonate lens, which contributes to mechanical protection. Connection is via an open wire end with 50cm cable. The light complies with CE, ECE R10, ECE R148-A, ECE R148-ECE-R1, ECE R148-SM1 and ECE R150-IA guidelines. ECE R48 — where every lamp on a vehicle must sit.

R48 is the master installation regulation. It defines which lamps are mandatory, which are optional, where they may be mounted, and how they must switch. Individual lamp regulations (R7 for position, R87 for DRL, R65 for beacons) certify the lamp itself. R48 certifies the vehicle on which the lamps are fitted.

DRLs became mandatory on new EU-registered vehicles in February 2011. R87 is the regulation they comply with. It specifies luminous intensity, colour, geometry and, critically, the switching logic — a DRL that fails to shut off under main-beam is as non-compliant as one that was never fitted.
