Product description: This surface mounting LED rear marking light from the Fristom MV-7500 series is suitable for use on vehicles with 12-24 V electrical systems. The compact design in red light image is particularly suitable for rear marking, where the integrated reflector increases vehicle visibility. Thanks to the robust housing made of polycarbonate and the lens made of the same material, the light is resistant to mechanical influences and weather conditions. The marker lights come with a 50 cm long cable and a 1.5 mm² connector, which simplifies mounting. Both horizontal and vertical mounting is possible. ECE R48 — where every lamp on a vehicle must sit.

R48 is the master installation regulation. It defines which lamps are mandatory, which are optional, where they may be mounted, and how they must switch. Individual lamp regulations (R7 for position, R87 for DRL, R65 for beacons) certify the lamp itself. R48 certifies the vehicle on which the lamps are fitted.

ECE R87 — daytime running lamps.

DRLs became mandatory on new EU-registered vehicles in February 2011. R87 is the regulation they comply with. It specifies luminous intensity, colour, geometry and, critically, the switching logic — a DRL that fails to shut off under main-beam is as non-compliant as one that was never fitted.
