Product description: This amber coloured LED side marker light from the Fristom MV-7500 series is designed for mounting on semi-trailers, commercial vehicles and other vehicles where additional side visibility is required. With compact dimensions of 114.8 x 19 x 54.6 mm and polycarbonate housing, the luminaire is suitable for applications where limited installation space is available and increased shock resistance is desired. The side marker light operates on 12-24 V and is equipped with an integrated reflector. The 50 cm long cable with 0.75 mm² connector enables quick connection. The housing and lens consist of polycarbonate, which contributes to its high impact resistance. This version is CE-certified and complies with ECE-R10 directive for electromagnetic compatibility. ECE R48 — where every lamp on a vehicle must sit.

R48 is the master installation regulation. It defines which lamps are mandatory, which are optional, where they may be mounted, and how they must switch. Individual lamp regulations (R7 for position, R87 for DRL, R65 for beacons) certify the lamp itself. R48 certifies the vehicle on which the lamps are fitted.

DRLs became mandatory on new EU-registered vehicles in February 2011. R87 is the regulation they comply with. It specifies luminous intensity, colour, geometry and, critically, the switching logic — a DRL that fails to shut off under main-beam is as non-compliant as one that was never fitted.
