This LED side marker light from Horpol s MBA-2700 serie is designed for applications on commercial vehicles within a voltage range of 12-24 V. The compact module (146x116x37 mm) combines marking functions for both the rear and side of the vehicle in a single housing design. This results in an efficient solution for vehicle marking in compliance with European directives. The version has a robust rubber housing with a wear-resistant polycarbonate lens. Thanks to its IP68 classification, this LED side marker light is completely dust- and waterproof, suitable for various weather conditions and intensive use. The cast-in 150 cm long connection cable with open wire end facilitates surface mounting on a variety of vehicles. Certified according to CE, ECE R10, ECE R7 and ECE R91. This model combines the functions: rear marker light and side marker light in one construction, finished in red, white and amber coloured light. ECE R48 — where every lamp on a vehicle must sit.

R48 is the master installation regulation. It defines which lamps are mandatory, which are optional, where they may be mounted, and how they must switch. Individual lamp regulations (R7 for position, R87 for DRL, R65 for beacons) certify the lamp itself. R48 certifies the vehicle on which the lamps are fitted.

R148 replaces and unifies the previous patchwork of lamp regulations (R6, R7, R23, R38, R77, R87, R91) into one consolidated standard for signalling lamps. It came into force for new vehicle type approvals in September 2023, with full mandatory application by 2027. What was once seven regulations covering direction indicators, position lamps, reversing lamps, parking lamps, end-outline markers, DRLs and side-marker lamps is now one document.
