The Horpol MB-4200 serie LED side marker lights are designed for mounting on a variety of vehicle types, where they provide clear contour lights in traffic. This model features a red and white lens and provides the function: rear marker lights. Thanks to its robust rubber housing and impact-resistant polycarbonate lens, this LED side marker light is suitable for use in demanding conditions. Surface mounting and the open wire end with 23 cm cable length facilitate installation. This light operates on 12-24 V and complies with CE, ECE-R10 and ECE-R7 standards. ECE R48 — where every lamp on a vehicle must sit.

R48 is the master installation regulation. It defines which lamps are mandatory, which are optional, where they may be mounted, and how they must switch. Individual lamp regulations (R7 for position, R87 for DRL, R65 for beacons) certify the lamp itself. R48 certifies the vehicle on which the lamps are fitted.

R148 replaces and unifies the previous patchwork of lamp regulations (R6, R7, R23, R38, R77, R87, R91) into one consolidated standard for signalling lamps. It came into force for new vehicle type approvals in September 2023, with full mandatory application by 2027. What was once seven regulations covering direction indicators, position lamps, reversing lamps, parking lamps, end-outline markers, DRLs and side-marker lamps is now one document.
