Omschrijving

This red LED marker light from the Fristom MV-5800 serie is designed for vehicle signalling in a variety of applications within the 12-24 V segment. The combination of rear marker lights and reflector function provides extra visibility and safety. Thanks to surface mounting and the 0.75 mm² connector with 50 cm cable, efficient installation is possible. The housing consists of polycarbonate and rubber, with a polycarbonate lens for impact resistance and long-term usability. The unit is recognised under multiple ECE directives, including ECE-R10 and ECE-R148, and meets IP standards suitable for vehicle integration. The marker light measures 115.7 x 64 x 43.8 mm and is suitable for both light and heavy vehicles. ECE R48 — where every lamp on a vehicle must sit.

R48 is the master installation regulation. It defines which lamps are mandatory, which are optional, where they may be mounted, and how they must switch. Individual lamp regulations (R7 for position, R87 for DRL, R65 for beacons) certify the lamp itself. R48 certifies the vehicle on which the lamps are fitted.

DRLs became mandatory on new EU-registered vehicles in February 2011. R87 is the regulation they comply with. It specifies luminous intensity, colour, geometry and, critically, the switching logic — a DRL that fails to shut off under main-beam is as non-compliant as one that was never fitted.
