Omschrijving

The Fristom ZL400 serie LED beacon is designed for deployment on vehicles in a variety of working environments, where visibility and signalling are required. Thanks to its 3-bolt mounting, this flashing light is suitable for fixed applications on commercial vehicles or agricultural equipment, for example. The polycarbonate housing and lens offer high impact resistance and are resistant to external influences. With a supply voltage of 12-24 V, this flashing light is universal within vehicle electronics. The light comes with a cable length of 150 cm and features an open wire end for direct connection. The Fristom ZL400 serie meets IP68, ECE-R10 and ECE-R65 requirements, indicating water- and dust-tightness and interference-free operation with other electronic components. ECE R65 — the rule behind every warning light.

ECE R65 is the European standard that determines whether a rotating or flashing beacon is road-legal. It defines luminous intensity, flash rate, colour and mechanical endurance. Without an R65 mark, a beacon is not allowed on a public road anywhere inside UNECE territory — and insurers routinely refuse claims on vehicles carrying non-approved warning lights.

R10 is the reason a cheap LED strip can make a truck's ABS throw faults. It regulates how much electrical noise a lamp is allowed to emit, and how much external interference it has to tolerate. Every lamp destined for a European road carrying a CE mark also needs an R10 stamp — the two are not the same.

ADR — lighting rules for dangerous-goods transport.

ADR is the European agreement governing the international carriage of dangerous goods by road. Annex B, Part 9 contains the electrical-installation rules that a lamp on an ADR-rated vehicle must meet. It is stricter than ordinary road-vehicle standards — a lamp fitted to a tanker carrying flammable liquid has to survive electrical and mechanical conditions an ordinary delivery truck never sees.
