TRALERT®'s MV-4500 series includes compact LED marker lights suitable for vehicles within the 12-24 V voltage range. Designed for fixed mounting on vehicles and 12V semi-trailers, these white marker lights serve to indicate dimensions or contours. Thanks to its IP67 classification, the product is completely dust-proof and protected against temporary immersion in water. The lens and housing are both made of durable polycarbonate, contributing to a longer service life in a variety of weather conditions. The marker light features an open wire end and comes with a cable length of 500 cm, providing sufficient flexibility for installation. With compact dimensions of ø27.5 x 20.5 mm, this marker light is suitable for applications where space is limited. ECE R48 — where every lamp on a vehicle must sit.

R48 is the master installation regulation. It defines which lamps are mandatory, which are optional, where they may be mounted, and how they must switch. Individual lamp regulations (R7 for position, R87 for DRL, R65 for beacons) certify the lamp itself. R48 certifies the vehicle on which the lamps are fitted.

ECE R87 — daytime running lamps.

DRLs became mandatory on new EU-registered vehicles in February 2011. R87 is the regulation they comply with. It specifies luminous intensity, colour, geometry and, critically, the switching logic — a DRL that fails to shut off under main-beam is as non-compliant as one that was never fitted.
