This LED marker light from Fristom s MV-1400 serie is designed for 12-24 V systems and suitable for a variety of vehicle applications. The compact 120x67x18 mm housing is made of durable polycarbonate with a matching lens, contributing to a robust construction. The open wire end features a 50 cm cable for easy connection. This marker light combines the functions: Rear Marker Light and Reflector. With CE, ECE R10, ECE R3 and ECE R7 approvals, the product complies with relevant vehicle lighting regulations. The design is suitable for surface mounting. ECE R48 — where every lamp on a vehicle must sit.

R48 is the master installation regulation. It defines which lamps are mandatory, which are optional, where they may be mounted, and how they must switch. Individual lamp regulations (R7 for position, R87 for DRL, R65 for beacons) certify the lamp itself. R48 certifies the vehicle on which the lamps are fitted.

ECE R87 — daytime running lamps.

DRLs became mandatory on new EU-registered vehicles in February 2011. R87 is the regulation they comply with. It specifies luminous intensity, colour, geometry and, critically, the switching logic — a DRL that fails to shut off under main-beam is as non-compliant as one that was never fitted.
