Omschrijving

The Horpol MV-3400 serie includes LED marker lights suitable for vehicles with a 12-24 V electrical system. This particular model comes in red and is designed for mounting on the top of the vehicle. The marker light has a reflector function and contributes to the visibility and recognisability of vehicles in a variety of weather and lighting conditions. The housing and lens are made of durable polycarbonate, and thanks to surface mounting with a cable length of 25 cm, installation is easy. The IP68 rating ensures full dust-tightness and protection against immersion in water. This LED marker light complies with CE, ECE R10 and ECE R7 guidelines for vehicle electronics and lighting technology. ECE R48 — where every lamp on a vehicle must sit.

R48 is the master installation regulation. It defines which lamps are mandatory, which are optional, where they may be mounted, and how they must switch. Individual lamp regulations (R7 for position, R87 for DRL, R65 for beacons) certify the lamp itself. R48 certifies the vehicle on which the lamps are fitted.

DRLs became mandatory on new EU-registered vehicles in February 2011. R87 is the regulation they comply with. It specifies luminous intensity, colour, geometry and, critically, the switching logic — a DRL that fails to shut off under main-beam is as non-compliant as one that was never fitted.
