Omschrijving

This red LED marker light from the Fristom MV-5800 serie is designed for mounting on vehicles with visibility and safety requirements. The combination of marker light and reflector supports clear signalling at the rear of the vehicle. Thanks to its compact dimensions of 102.4 x 45.2 x 15.8 mm and surface mounting, the marker light is easy to install on a variety of bodies. The housing is made of polycarbonate and rubber, with a polycarbonate lens for impact protection. This model is suitable for 12-24 V systems and comes with a fixed 50 cm cable with 1.5mm² connector. The application is uniformly deployable around the vehicle, thanks in part to certifications according to CE, ECE R10, ECE R148 (A, R1, SM1) and ECE R150 (IA). ECE R48 — where every lamp on a vehicle must sit.

R48 is the master installation regulation. It defines which lamps are mandatory, which are optional, where they may be mounted, and how they must switch. Individual lamp regulations (R7 for position, R87 for DRL, R65 for beacons) certify the lamp itself. R48 certifies the vehicle on which the lamps are fitted.

DRLs became mandatory on new EU-registered vehicles in February 2011. R87 is the regulation they comply with. It specifies luminous intensity, colour, geometry and, critically, the switching logic — a DRL that fails to shut off under main-beam is as non-compliant as one that was never fitted.
