Omschrijving

This LED marker light from the Horpol MV-4000 serie is designed for use as side marker lights with integrated reflector function. The housing and lens are made of polycarbonate, which contributes to mechanical resistance and impact resistance. Thanks to its compact size of 81.5 x 24.5 x 29mm, this marker light lends itself well to vehicles with limited mounting space. The unit is suitable for voltages of 12-24 V and features a 45cm cable with open wire end for flexible connection. With IP68 rating and certifications according to CE, ECE-R10 and ECE-R91, the product meets the requirements for automotive signal lighting. The surface-mount assembly allows installation on various vehicle types. ECE R48 — where every lamp on a vehicle must sit.

R48 is the master installation regulation. It defines which lamps are mandatory, which are optional, where they may be mounted, and how they must switch. Individual lamp regulations (R7 for position, R87 for DRL, R65 for beacons) certify the lamp itself. R48 certifies the vehicle on which the lamps are fitted.

DRLs became mandatory on new EU-registered vehicles in February 2011. R87 is the regulation they comply with. It specifies luminous intensity, colour, geometry and, critically, the switching logic — a DRL that fails to shut off under main-beam is as non-compliant as one that was never fitted.
