This LED side marker light from Fristom s MB-2000 serie is designed for mounting on trucks and semi-trailers. Thanks to its 45 cm cable and open wire end, connection to existing installations is easy. The light emits amber coloured light and is manufactured with a rubber housing for increased impact and vibration resistance, suitable for use in demanding conditions. The product is CE-certified and complies with ECE-R10 and ECE-R148 directives, ensuring electromagnetic compatibility and functional safety. The surface-mount mounting allows flexible installation of this LED side marker light on a variety of vehicle types. ECE R48 — where every lamp on a vehicle must sit.

R48 is the master installation regulation. It defines which lamps are mandatory, which are optional, where they may be mounted, and how they must switch. Individual lamp regulations (R7 for position, R87 for DRL, R65 for beacons) certify the lamp itself. R48 certifies the vehicle on which the lamps are fitted.

R148 replaces and unifies the previous patchwork of lamp regulations (R6, R7, R23, R38, R77, R87, R91) into one consolidated standard for signalling lamps. It came into force for new vehicle type approvals in September 2023, with full mandatory application by 2027. What was once seven regulations covering direction indicators, position lamps, reversing lamps, parking lamps, end-outline markers, DRLs and side-marker lamps is now one document.
