Product description: The Fristom MV-7510R from the MV-7500 series is designed as a rear marker light with reflector function for vehicles in the 12-24 V class. This compact side marker light is suitable for universal applications within transport and commercial vehicles, where clear red-coloured signalling is required. The polycarbonate housing and lens contribute to the luminaire's impact resistance and reliability even in environments with increased vibration loads. Thanks to CE and ECE R10 certification, the product is approved for use on public roads and interference-free in electromagnetically sensitive areas. The mounting is carried out as a surface-mounted version. The unit is equipped with a 0.75mm² connector and standard 50 cm cable, which simplifies installation within various vehicle configurations. ECE R48 — where every lamp on a vehicle must sit.

R48 is the master installation regulation. It defines which lamps are mandatory, which are optional, where they may be mounted, and how they must switch. Individual lamp regulations (R7 for position, R87 for DRL, R65 for beacons) certify the lamp itself. R48 certifies the vehicle on which the lamps are fitted.

DRLs became mandatory on new EU-registered vehicles in February 2011. R87 is the regulation they comply with. It specifies luminous intensity, colour, geometry and, critically, the switching logic — a DRL that fails to shut off under main-beam is as non-compliant as one that was never fitted.
