Product description: This white LED side marker light from the Fristom MV-7500 series is designed for use on vehicles within the 12-24 V range. Its compact size of 114.8 x 19 x 54.6 mm makes the luminaire suitable for applications where limited installation space is available. The housing and lens are made of polycarbonate, which contributes to impact resistance and durability under a variety of conditions. The light has an integrated reflector function for better visibility, and comes with a 50 cm cable with a 0.75 mm² connector for easy electrical connection. With CE and ECE-R10 certification, this model meets relevant requirements for electromagnetic compatibility and safety in vehicles. The unit is suitable for surface mounting and offers flexibility in terms of placement direction. ECE R48 — where every lamp on a vehicle must sit.

R48 is the master installation regulation. It defines which lamps are mandatory, which are optional, where they may be mounted, and how they must switch. Individual lamp regulations (R7 for position, R87 for DRL, R65 for beacons) certify the lamp itself. R48 certifies the vehicle on which the lamps are fitted.

DRLs became mandatory on new EU-registered vehicles in February 2011. R87 is the regulation they comply with. It specifies luminous intensity, colour, geometry and, critically, the switching logic — a DRL that fails to shut off under main-beam is as non-compliant as one that was never fitted.
