Omschrijving

The Fristom ZL400 serie is designed as a compact LED beacon for applications on a variety of commercial vehicles. This model features a DIN plug-in mounting, allowing standardised installation on vehicles with DIN connections. The low housing contributes to a streamlined design for maintaining vehicle profile. Both the lens and housing are made of impact-resistant polycarbonate, which contributes to durability under harsh conditions. The LED beacon is suitable for voltages between 12-24 V, supporting wide applicability on different vehicle types. Thanks to its IP68 rating, this model is fully dust-proof and protected against long-term immersion. The ZL400 serie also complies with CE, ECE R10 and ECE R65 directives for electromagnetic compatibility and visibility signal. ECE R65 — the rule behind every warning light.

ECE R65 is the European standard that determines whether a rotating or flashing beacon is road-legal. It defines luminous intensity, flash rate, colour and mechanical endurance. Without an R65 mark, a beacon is not allowed on a public road anywhere inside UNECE territory — and insurers routinely refuse claims on vehicles carrying non-approved warning lights.

R10 is the reason a cheap LED strip can make a truck's ABS throw faults. It regulates how much electrical noise a lamp is allowed to emit, and how much external interference it has to tolerate. Every lamp destined for a European road carrying a CE mark also needs an R10 stamp — the two are not the same.

ADR — lighting rules for dangerous-goods transport.

ADR is the European agreement governing the international carriage of dangerous goods by road. Annex B, Part 9 contains the electrical-installation rules that a lamp on an ADR-rated vehicle must meet. It is stricter than ordinary road-vehicle standards — a lamp fitted to a tanker carrying flammable liquid has to survive electrical and mechanical conditions an ordinary delivery truck never sees.
